GAINESVILLE, FL - Confidence Hoops Confidence Cougars took on “May Madness” in Gainesville, FL over the weekend hosted by Inside Exposure. The Cougar Girls 16U faced off in the Girls Elite bracket at the crack of dawn Saturday vs. P5’ 24. In a dominant performance, these ladies showed up, winning 45-6. The next game would not be a douse, as the girls fought an up and down battle of baskets. The second half performance of Mackenzie Massey would prove to be too much for ECU South FL 2023 as the Cougars would go on to win 49-44. To start bracket play Sunday, the Cougar Girls showed consistency on both ends of the floor to roll pass ECU South FL 2023 once again to head into championship play. Here the girls faced a varied version of P5’23. With a 4:40pm tip off and the support of players within the Cougar organization, parents, and spectators, the girls came to play with unmatched confidence as a parent within the tournament quoted “I watched every team in this tournament play, and yours is the best by far, no one will beat y'all down here.” Cougars started with the momentum plays of Dakota Santos as she took the lead offensively and defensively for the Cougars. Throughout the game, star players would shine. Offensive drives of Zaniya Blackmon, defensive stops and free throw excellence of Sailor Rearden and the crushing 3’s of Mackenzie Massey.
